BRADENTON, Fla. (WFLA) — A Florida police officer delivered a pizza for a woman after an alligator spooked the delivery driver from her customer's front door.
According to the Bradenton Police Department, Officer Tolson responded to a report of an 8-foot alligator roaming around the River Isles neighborhood.
After arriving, he told a pizza driver not to approach a house where the alligator had decided to rest under an SUV.
He told the driver she could still bring the food to the homeowner around the back, but she was too scared.
"Do you want to do it, officer?" she asked.
Tolson graciously filled in for the pizza delivery driver and approached the house.
A neighbor tried to call the homeowner to warn her about the alligator, but she didn't get the message and came out her front door.
"Ma'am, get back over there!" Tolson said. "There's an alligator under your car!"
"Oh, my God!" the woman shouted.
"Go in the house!" the officer shouted back.
"Oh, my heaven, there's a big alligator under my car! Oh, my Lordy!" the woman kept shouting.
"GET IN THE HOUSE!" Tolson yelled again.
Eventually, Tolson was able to get to the back of the woman's house to hand her the pizza.
"How much was it?" the woman asked.
"I have no idea; I'm not the pizza man," Tolson responded.
After getting the cash for the pizza driver, Tolson also took a picture of the alligator for the homeowner.
The alligator was relocated after the fiasco, far away from the neighborhood and any vulnerable pizzas.
